“This case-based, evidence-based medicine discussion will explore the assessment and management of pediatric respiratory emergencies. Participants will review common and high-risk respiratory presentations and examine current evidence-based approaches to improving outcomes in critically ill pediatric patients.
The session will focus on assessing and treating pediatric patients experiencing respiratory distress related to both upper and lower airway complications. Attendees will learn how to differentiate between varying degrees of respiratory distress, respiratory failure, and respiratory arrest, allowing for earlier recognition and intervention.
Participants will also discuss airway management and ventilation strategies, including available interventions, their benefits, potential complications, and considerations for application in the prehospital and emergency care settings. Through case-based discussion, providers will gain practical tools to improve clinical decision-making and enhance the care of pediatric patients with life-threatening respiratory conditions.”
