Squad 51 History & Education Project features a replica of Squad 51 from the 1970s TV series EMERGENCY!. The project became possible through the purchase of a 1972 Dodge from the Alna Fire Department in Maine and an original paramedic rescue body from California. While searching for a utility body, we discovered the rescue body on eBay after it had been stored in a shed for more than 15 years. We flew to California, dug the body out of storage, loaded it into a rental truck using come-alongs and planks, and drove it back to Maine. The body required some restoration; however, the cab was in immaculate condition with only 7,980 miles.
