Mat Goebel, MD, MAS, is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician with a strong background in prehospital care and research. He earned his MD from the University of California San Diego in 2019 and also holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research from the same institution. He completed an Emergency Medical Services Fellowship and an Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
Dr. Goebel has a significant publication record in peer-reviewed journals such as JACEP Open and Prehospital Emergency Care. His research interests include EMS, STEMI, cardiac arrest, EKGs, cybersecurity, natural language processing, data visualization, and machine learning.
He is also actively involved in committees for national organizations like the National Associations of EMS Physicians and the American College of Emergency Physicians. He currently serves on Massachusetts’ Medical Services Committee and Emergency Medical Care Advisory Board.
Dr. Goebel has been a nationally registered paramedic since 2010 and is currently the Medical Director for the paramedic program at Westfield State University.
