Lou is the Owner and President, A Second Chance CPR and First Aid Training, LLC. He has owned his company since September 19, 2003. He spent 21 years in the United States Navy Active Duty as a Hospital Corpsman Chief Petty Officer, (Air Warfare Specialist) retiring on November 30, 1998. Duty stations included: USS Forrestal CV-59, USS Nassau LHA-4, USNS Chauvenet, Naval Hospital Puerto Rico, Portsmouth Naval Hospital and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Clinic, Sewells Point Branch Clinic Norfolk, VA, Naval Hospital Patuxent River, MD and the White House Medical Unit Washington, DC.  Lou’s background has been in the Emergency Care and Sport Medicine Field where he is currently a CT EMT Instructor and EMT, the Training Center Coordinator and Instructor for the American Heart Association, Former Medic First Aid and American Health and Safety Institute Training Center Coordinator and  a Distributor for various types of Automated External Defibrillators (AED).  He graduated from Notre Dame High School, West Haven, CT in 1977. He currently is certified as a CT Basketball and Football Official. Lou volunteers his time with the CT Little League District 5 Baseball as the Umpire in Chief. Other activities that he is include: President, CT EMSI 2015-2019, President elect CT Emergency Medical Instructor Society 2013-2015, Chief of Durham Ambulance (October 2019-Present), Deputy Chief Durham Volunteer Ambulance (October 2016-2019) Treasurer for Durham Volunteer Ambulance Corps (October 2013 -2014), CT HOSA Advisory Committee, Board of Directors Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and Committee Chairman for their Business Expo, serves as Group Leader for Greeters, Ushers and Security at Ignite Church, was a Trustee for Hope Christian Church. Lou is married to Kristyn Brockett and has 3 children (Alyssa, Jacob and McKenna) and 2 grandchildren (Jaxxon and Sawyer).
