Dr. Harley received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Norwalk, Connecticut and went on to do a residency in small animal internal medicine at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. She stayed on at AMC as staff in Internal Medicine and was co-director of post-graduate education and the internship program until leaving to join Central Hospital in North Haven, CT in 2010 where she is department head of Internal Medicine and the Medical Director. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Harley is also an experienced K9 handler and member of the all-volunteer K9 assisted Search and Rescue organization, RSAR, based out of Monroe, CT. She currently has two Karelian Bear Dogs, an English Shepherd and a Rottweiler. Three of her dogs are certified through the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA), trained to find both live missing persons and the deceased.
