Doug was employed by the New York State Police as a line Sergeant for just under 21 years before retiring. He is recently taken a position as the Director of EMS and Experiential Learning at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. His passion for EMS education started in 1992 when his college advisor entrusted him to take the instructor course for every EMS course he took. After acquiring his bachelor’s degree in Health Science, he moved on to become a nationally certified paramedic at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Today he continues to instruct ALS, BLS, and leadership courses at Clarkson University and for the Mountain Lakes Regional EMS Council. While maintaining his paramedic skills on several local ambulance services in the region, he also continues his EMS ambitions by leading E5 Support Services, LLC. E5 has been supporting local ambulance agencies in staffing, training, and consulting for over 11 years. Doug is happily married for the past 21 years and resides in Queensbury, NY with his three kids, 3 dogs, and 2 horses.
