Doug is currently employed by Clarkson University as its first Director of EMS. After a 20 year career as a New York State Trooper, Doug retired in the Spring of 2022 to better utilize his EMS expertise for Clarkson University and the St. Lawrence County area. His passion for EMS education started in 1992 when his college advisor entrusted him to take an instructor course for every EMS course he took. Today he continues to instruct emergency medical services courses in EMT, Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support and EMS leadership at Clarkson University. While maintaining his Nationally Registered paramedic skills on several local ambulance services in the region, he also continues his EMS ambitions by leading E5 Support Services, LLC. E5 has been supporting local ambulance agencies in staffing, training, and consulting for over 13 years. Doug is happily married for the past 22 years and resides in Canton, NY with his 3 kids, 11 chickens, 3 dogs, and 2 horses.
