Samantha Johnson, Esq., MBA, MHA is a Senior Associate General Counsel for Grady Health System, one of the largest public academic healthcare systems in the United States.  She advises, counsels, and educates hospital employees and medical staff regarding patient care, ethics, human resources, compliance and regulatory matters; drafts and reviews contracts, agreements, and policies; and represents Grady in litigation in Georgia state and federal courts and in administrative matters before state and federal agencies.  Samantha spends a substantial portion of her time representing Grady Health System’s hospital-based EMS system, which is the provider of 911 services in the City of Atlanta and numerous additional Georgia counties. The service includes over 1000 employees, approximately 300 ambulances, and provides specialty and neonatal transport, mobile integrated healthcare, community psychiatric/crisis response, and emergency disaster response.  Samantha is an active member of the State Bars of Georgia and South Carolina.  She is a graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law (J.D., 2003) and the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University (MBA and MHA, 2014) and currently serves as adjunct faculty for both schools.  Samantha is an accomplished author and speaker.  Notably, she is a co-author of the “EMTALA” chapter for the AHLA’s Representing Hospitals and Health Systems (2016) and is a contributing author for the ABA Handbook on Additional Insureds (2018) and the ABA Corporate Counsel Handbook (2019).
